After the last post, it appears that both WOIP and Stoic have collapsed, Stoic still has it's site running but is definitely not paying anymore. What is surprising is GeniusFunds and how it's managing to stick around; I cashed out AU$60 already in my bank account, but there's still at least another US$40 or so just in LR and GeniusFund shares that can be sold. I'll be waiting for that since I really want to get on a plan for a mobile... haha.

Well it's been a long, long time since I've posted, nearly 4 months now.
I'm studying medicine and tutoring some people, and I'm finding that I won't be able to continue actively in the HYIPs arena.
As soon as I can, I will be exiting from this. I started with $0, and am ending up with a sizeable amount, which I am quite happy with.
SafeAtom collapsed during Christmas, which was fairly disappointing, but I had made more than double so it was worth it.
CentAsia also collapsed, partly because I forgot about HYIPs over the Christmas break, and didn't withdraw my earnings.
As soon as my Stoic funds have matured, I will be withdrawing from all activity, via exchanging LR for a bank deposit (In Australia, e-forexgold.com does this nicely, so I will be handling it through them)

I've also heard LR is starting to go bad, so yeh I will be trying to get out as soon as possible.

Heh. Another late update. SafeAtom went under a DDoS attack but successfully recovered. In my opinion, SafeAtom is really going to last the distance. One of my deposits, fully 100% compounded over 5 months, is 2 days from being paid out. Exciting news :D

To say the internet helps to relieve you of any money you wish to put online is not an understatement, and both scammers and phishers abound in a world of faceless people, difficult to be identified and willing to rip off some people for their own benefit.
In 2005, I came across High Yield Investment Programs, or HYIPs, through a Google advertisement. The interest rates were absolutely unbelievable; naive as I was, I began to dream of riches that were measurable, but would provide me and my family a comfortable lifestyle. I went into Forex, or Foreign Currency Exchange, and saw yet more potential here. More importantly though, I came across a unique forum consisting of people just like me, attempting to navigate these murky waters.
This forum was Talkgold, run by Brian and Edward Krassenstein.

Through this forum and the years that followed, I slowly learned the path to enlightenment regarding these opportunities, and after many large losses to "companies" that went nowhere, I began to feel depressed. Brian and Edward helped to guide the Talkgold community, and learn together through our downfalls, and gradually I regained focus and began to look at more legitimate and long-living ventures. The many programs that scammed honest, yet naive net-surfers, such as 12DailyPro and PIPS, took millions of dollars, wrecking confidence, attitudes and even lives, as people banked on their success, wrongly. Many of us were time and time again warned by Brian, and other members, against "investing" in these "opportunities", and only some did take heed - and I was one of those who did, and have been ever grateful for it.

Talkgold helped us as a community to grow in knowledge and wisdom, but this was obviously not good for would-be scammers, else they would have less naive fish to fry. So problems started to happen to Brian and Edward; posters slurring their names in an attempt to discredit the brothers' valid warnings, falsely accusing them of running HYIPs, and stirring the situation. Personal threats were made against Brian and Edward, in an attempt to scare them off into allowing these faceless villains to target their hapless and innocent prey, people who were like me in the past.

I guess it's not surprising that this would happen. But other people began to believe the false accusations and spread the word. It sullied their reputation somewhat, but the Krassenstein brothers never backed down to give up the battle against these people. I don't think we should either. To let that happen is to let down your morals. To let that happen is to allow these fake companies to survive, escape and morph into another reincarnation, ready to consume more people's money, for which they have worked hard for.

Slander is a powerful tool. But together, as a group of people bound by experience and wisdom, we can overcome the scum of humanity.

I've gone back to FOREX Trading.
Started with Marketiva - who've been online for about 5 years now - and received their $2.50 live cash and a virtual $10000 account.

Suffered two notable setbacks, the first because an AUD/USD long pair dipped just a little too far and I lost it all due to margin call - lost 15% there - and the second because a EUR/JPY short pair went up just a little to high and once again margin call.

Three nice victories though:
AUD/USD short, gained 32 pips.
EUR/JPY long, gained 51 pips.
EUR/JPY long, gained 54 pips.

All up, my account is now at $3.05, which is 22% growth in two days. Yay :)

The virtual account at $10000 grew to $10950 after a gain of 9 pips on AUD/USD long.
I remember the days when AUD/USD was 0.75; now its 0.93. Shocked.
